Dolly founded the Imagination Library right here in Sevier County in 1995, inspired by her father’s inability to read and write. What began as a local program now provides free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five—regardless of their family’s income—and mails more than three million books every month around the world. imaginationlibrary.com

To me, Dolly has always represented what it means to be a girl’s girl. She showed us that another woman’s beauty, talent or success does not take anything away from our own. She celebrated other women, encouraged them and made room for them to shine.
